Oh, Five Minute Friday, again you challenge me.
This word “again” is annoying. I connote unpleasant things with this word.
An olive shoot is being difficult again.
My husband has to travel again.
A family member is ill again.
They didn’t empty the dishwasher
or close the door on the dryer so now the light is out
No one puts away the clean clothes
They rustle through all the other clothes and leave things in disarray
AGAIN
Ergh
You get the idea
Frustrating
Scary
Irritating
Repetitive
Something I don’t like is being experienced additional times. Wow.
And it’s not like I see it only in others.
I have my own “again’s” which feel even more disappointing.
But since I only have a few more minutes, let me tell you about another again which can help me not spiral into hopelessness.
A few years ago, the Hubs got me this pretty print from a West Point mom/crafty girl/blogger.
I bespy this reminder of God’s faithfulness again in my hallway. Again I stop and consider the Lord’s treasures and promises.

A pretty print made by a talented West Point mom. Here’s her Etsy site.
His mercies
New every day
Every morning
Just enough
Again, I approach the throne of grace and ask for His guidance and help.
One of my favorite Scripture verses: Lamentations 3:22-24
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
‘The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”
Beautiful.
Love. Here from FMF. Thank you for sharing. Have a beautiful weekend!
Thank you for the reminder verse! I thought I was the ONLY one who had piles of clean clothes waiting to be folded AGAIN! Visiting from FMF. Thanks for stopping by!
Loved the reminder verse! Yes piles of clean clothes needed to be folded lurk at my house as well!
It is such a sweet blessing when someone initiates folding the clothes besides me! I’m so thankful for the Lord’s fresh mercies!
I’m glad to know my sons are not the only ones that go through the basket of clean clothes and leave the stuff they weren’t looking for rolled into a ball! lol Love this post – so thankful for God’s mercies being new every morning. 🙂
Oh yes, the basket of clothes is a source of stress. God speaks to me through that basket of clothes many, many times! That’s where the mercies come in! Thanks for your sweet comment, Rosanne!
God knows when we need encouragement and provides it in wonderful ways…this was “a morning” AGAIN for me. Though nothing has changed my circumstance, my day is better because my outlook has been adjusted…again!
I know exactly what you mean! What a difference it makes even if there are no differences! Thanks for YOUR encouragement today!
Wow… I am very humbled to be remembered.
Another of my favorite verses is: Forgetting what lies behind, I press forward to what lies ahead.
I am blessed every time I bother to look at the print in my hallway and realize those words apply to me!
Oh yes, laundry…again. Years ago, I declared to the household (my husband and son at the time) that since no one put my clothes away for me, I wasn’t going to put their’s away either. It was very liberating to set the clean clothes on the bed and walk away. Now my mil lives with us and feels that doing the laundry is the least she can do for us in return for her hospitality. I DO NOT argue! 🙂
